15 Dec 10 - Update on Khor Abeche situation

15 December 2010 - The security situation in the Khor Abeche, South Darfur, is improving, but remains tense. Following attacks carried out on 10 and 11 December, UNAMID located unexploded ordnance (UXO) in the village and moved them to a safe location for destruction.

The Mission has requested urgent intervention by humanitarian actors to support its clinic and provide it with some medicine, due to the possibility of diseases among those villagers displaced in front of UNAMID's team site. UN agencies are responding to this request.
