MINUSCA welcomes release of Baboua hostages

The United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) welcomes the release on Saturday of the mayor, the sub-prefect and the priest of the western city of Baboua by the Democratic Front for the Central African People (FDPC). The hostages were detained since 16 July 2015 and have been handed over today to the authorities of Nana Mambéré.

MINUSCA reiterates its appeal to all armed groups to unconditionally renounce to violence and endorse the process of dialogue on DDR, launched by Central African Government in view of the reinforcement of security and the establishment of a lasting peace in Central African Republic.
