Bangui, 26th June 2014 – The United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) condemns the violence that has occurred in the past few days in the city of Bambari, and deplores the loss of many lives.

On 26 May 2014, UNHCR launched a verification operation to document the situation of urban refugees and asylum seekers in Bangui. The operation aims to update their figures and attest their needs, in order to better target assistance and work for durable solutions.

29 May 2014 – Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today strongly condemned recent attacks in the Central African Republic (CAR) and encouraged the country’s Transitional Authority to do everything within its means to prevent further violence and to hold the perpetrators to account.
