A MINUSCA peacekeeper killed in a road accident

A blue helmet of the Bangladeshi contingent of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA), Lance Corporal Nazrul Islam, died on Thursday 09 April 2015, following an accident which occurred in Boali, in the Prefecture of Ombella M’Poko, 90 km from Bangui.
 
Twelve Bangladeshi peacekeepers were also injured, among whom three are currently in critical condition.
 
MINUSCA expresses its condolences to the family of the deceased as well as the Bangladeshi government.
 
Aged 32, Lance Corporal Nazrul arrived in the Central African Republic in November 2014. He is the sixth MINUSCA blue helmet who died since the deployment of the Mission on 15 September 2015.
