24 Dec 2020 - The Humanitarian Coordinator in the Central African Republic, Ms. Denise Brown, expresses her serious concern for the escalation of tensions and the upsurge of violence that has been observed in several parts of the country ahead of upcoming general elections on the 27th of December. Insecurity and fears of attacks have already panicked the population and led to over 55,000 people leaving their homes, which serves to increase their vulnerability.

14 Jul 2020 - The members of the Security Council condemned in the strongest terms the attack on 13 July 2020 by alleged Return, Reclamation and Rehabilitation (3R) armed elements against a convoy of the Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) in Gedze (Prefecture of Nana-Mambéré), in the northwest of the Central African Republic, which resulted in one Rwandan peacekeeper killed and two others injured.
13 Jul 2020 - The Secretary-General strongly condemns today’s attack by alleged Return, Reclamation and Rehabilitation (3R) armed elements on a United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) convoy in Gedze, Nana-Mambere prefecture in the northwest of the country. A peacekeeper from Rwanda was killed and two others were wounded.
16 Mar 2020 - The Secretary-General strongly condemns the attack perpetrated by anti-Balaka elements against local officials on 15 March in Grimari, Ouaka Prefecture. United Nations peacekeepers confronted the attackers and one Burundian peacekeeper was killed. The Secretary-General expresses his deepest condolences to the family of the deceased peacekeeper, as well to the Government and people of Burundi.
09 Mar 2020 - The Secretary‑General strongly condemns the killing of a colleague serving with the United Nations stabilization mission in Ndélé, Central African Republic, allegedly by the Front Populaire pour la Renaissance de Centrafrique (FPRC) combatants. He expresses his deepest condolences to the family of the victim.
09 Feb 2020 - The Secretary-General met with H.E Mr. Faustin-Archange Touadera, President of the Central African Republic.The Secretary General welcomed ongoing efforts to implement the Political Agreement for Peace and Reconciliation signed in February 2019. The Secretary-General and the President took stock of the progress and challenges in the preparation of the presidential and legislative elections scheduled for late 2020 and early 2021.
