  • 20 Jun 2017 - The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General in the Central African Republic (CAR), Parfait Onanga-Anyanga, has called for an immediate cessation of violence affecting certain regions in accordance with the agreement signed on Monday in Rome between the Government of CAR and representatives of the 14 Central African armed groups.

    The United Nations Multi-Dimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) is determined to prevent any attempt by the Popular Front for Renaissance of Central African (FPRC) to occupy Bangassou (Mbomou Prefecture, south of CAR), from the locality of Bakouma, which would have dramatic consequences for the civilian population.

  • 30 May 2017 - BANGUI/GENEVA – Mass killings and other serious human rights violations have been documented in an extensive UN mapping report covering the multiple conflicts in the Central African Republic between 2003 and 2015.  Many of the violations may amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity, the mapping report states, as it sets out a strategy to fight pervasive impunity in the country.
