  • 04 Apr 2017 - The Security Council expresses concern at the ongoing clashes between armed groups, in particular around Bambari in the Ouaka prefecture, and, most recently, in Bakouma in the Mbomou prefecture, which have caused heavy civilian losses and significant population displacement.
  • 28 Feb 2017 - Verified information shows that the Front Populaire pour la Renaissance de Centrafrique (FPRC)’s coalition is distributing weapons to youth in Ippy, Ouaka prefecture (centre of the Central African Republic), in order to continue its offensive on Bambari in a clear violation of the line set up by United Nations forces. MINUSCA firmly condemns such maneuvers which, if implemented, would seriously endanger the lives of innocent populations and lead to further attacks on peacekeepers.
  • 27 Feb 2017 - Three members of the coalition led by the Front Populaire pour la Renaissance de Centrafrique (FPRC), whose offensive towards Bambari (center of Central African Republic) was stopped by the United Nations Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) on Sunday, are currently on Mission premises. Central African judicial authorities, with the support of MINUSCA, will proceed to question them about their presence in the vicinity of the city.

  • 02 Feb 2017 - The Special Representatives of the United Nations  Secretary-General for Central Africa and the Central African Republic (CAR) call for the immediate cessation of hostilities between FPRC (Front Populaire pour la Renaissance de Centrafrique)’s coalition and UPC (Mouvement pour l’Unité et la Paix en Centrafrique) in the Ouaka (center) and Haute Kotto (east) prefectures.
  • 06 Jan 2017 - A peacekeeper from the UN  Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) was killed on Thursday in Bokayai, 25 km southwest of Bocaranga, in Ouham-Pende Prefecture. MINUSCA peacekeepers on patrol were returning from the town of Koui when they were attacked by about 50 assailants. One peacekeeper from Bangladesh was fatally shot. The peacekeepers responded to the attack.
  • 04 Jan 2017 - The United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) strongly condemns the attack on a convoy of Moroccan peacekeepers on Tuesday afternoon about 60 km west of the city of Obo (south-easternCAR). Two peacekeepers were killed while two others were injured and are receiving medical care.
  • 13 Dec 2016 - The United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) takes seriously reports of violence and abuses committed by armed groups against communities on ethnic or religious grounds.
  • 31 Oct 2016 - MINUSCA calls on the Central African Government to prioritize the fight against impunity for serious past and present violations and abuses of human rights and humanitarian law committed in Kaga-Bandoro, and to ensure the timely completion of investigations and prosecutions.  The recommendations are contained in the MINUSCA  report on the attacks that occurred in Kaga-Bandoro from 12 to 17 October 2016.
  • 26 Oct 2016 - The Secretary-General condemns the outbreak of violence on 24 October in Bangui, Central African Republic, which resulted in the tragic death of at least four civilians and the injuring of a further nine. He deplores the attacks against the Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA), in which five peacekeepers were injured.
